These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) explain how you can purchase products from Timber Bi Fold (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By requesting a quote or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.


1. About Our Products

We supply high-quality timber joinery products, many of which are made to order (bespoke).

2. Placing an Order

  • Orders are placed by requesting a quotation and confirming acceptance via email.

  • A contract is formed only when we send you an order confirmation via email.

  • We may refuse an order (e.g. due to errors or availability).


3. Specifications and Drawings

  • You are responsible for ensuring all measurements, drawings, and specifications are correct.

  • Any updated drawings replace previous versions.

  • Changes after production has started may:

    • incur additional costs,

    • result in mixed specifications across items.

Quotations and invoices provide a summary only, not full specifications.

  • If we supply drawings these are chargeable and will be invoiced separately to the product. Drawings are producd by us and may not be exact to the bespoke product made. Invoicing for drawings may occur before or after production or delivery. Amendments to drawings are also chargeable. 

4. Product Variations

Timber is a natural material. Variations in:

  • colour,

  • grain,

  • texture

are normal and not considered defects.


5. Changes to Products

We may make reasonable changes to:

  • comply with legal or safety requirements,

  • improve durability or performance.

If a requested specification is unsuitable, we may suggest an alternative.


6. Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are quoted at the time of order.

  • All prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

  • Delivery costs are additional.

  • Payment terms will be confirmed before production begins.


7. Cancellations and Your Rights

Standard Products

You have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

Bespoke Products

Bespoke (made-to-measure) items:

  • cannot be cancelled once production has started.

Before Production

If you cancel before production begins:

  • we may retain a deposit to cover costs incurred.


8. Delivery

  • Delivery times are estimates only.

  • Delivery is typically kerbside only.

  • You must ensure safe unloading and access.

We are not responsible for:

  • delivery delays outside our control,

  • costs for missed or delayed installations.

Important: Do not book installers until your goods have arrived and been fully inspected with respects to but not limited to, damage, incorrect sizing, incorrect specification, missing items.


9. Inspection on Delivery

You must inspect goods as soon as possible.

Please notify us within 14 days if:

  • items are missing,

  • items are incorrect,

  • goods are damaged.


10. Installation Responsibility

Unless agreed in writing, we supply only and do not install.

You are responsible for:

  • using qualified installers,

  • ensuring correct installation,

  • preparing the site properly.

We are not liable for issues caused by:

  • incorrect installation,

  • third-party contractors,

  • site conditions.

We will charge for site visits unless a manufacturing fault is confirmed. Manufacturing faults do not include, product variation (as set out above), variance in size within set tolerances.


11. Warranty

We provide a warranty in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Warranty period: Depends on timber and product. Please enquire before purchasing.

Covers:

  • defects in materials,

  • workmanship.

Does not cover:

  • normal wear and tear,

  • timber movement or natural variation,

  • poor installation or maintenance,

  • third-party damage.

If a valid claim is accepted, we may:

  • repair,

  • replace, or

  • refund (where appropriate).

The warranty does not cover labour or installation costs.


12. Maintenance and Care

Timber products require ongoing maintenance.

This includes:

  • repainting or resealing,

  • keeping surfaces clean and dry,

  • checking hardware and seals.

Failure to maintain products may:

  • reduce lifespan,

  • invalidate your warranty.


13. Environmental Conditions

Timber reacts to its environment.

You must ensure:

  • the building is weather-tight before installation,

  • wet trades are fully dried,

  • adequate ventilation is provided.

We are not responsible for:

  • warping, swelling, or shrinking due to moisture,

  • condensation or poor ventilation.


14. Storage Before Installation

Products must be stored:

  • indoors in a dry, ventilated area,

  • off the ground,

  • protected from moisture.


15. Acceptance of Goods

By installing the products, you confirm:

  • they were received in acceptable condition,

  • no visible issues were present before installation.

We are not liable for:

  • defects visible before installation,

  • removal or reinstallation costs.

  • marks or damage to paint finishes from installation or storage.

16. Faulty Goods

Your rights are protected under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

If goods are faulty, you may be entitled to:

  • repair,

  • replacement, or

  • refund.

We may request:

  • photos,

  • a written description of the issue.


17. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits your legal rights.

We do not exclude liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence,

  • fraud.

We are not liable for:

  • loss of profits,

  • project delays,

  • indirect or consequential losses.


18. Installation

We are not responsible for the installation of the products supplied unless we have quoted to install. 

Any installation or part installation is done in accordance with building standards. 

Where we  install we are not liable for the completion of the install with regards to sealing, making good etc. This includes but is not limited to, plastering, cement/rendering, trims, window boards, facias, soffits etc that surround the product.

Any work carried out on site is performed in good faith. We install to industry standards and practices. If the work performed deviates from the work expected by the customer, that is outside our responsibility unless it deviates from previously agreed work in written confirmation via email. Verbal or Text communication is not accepted as a form of confirmation.


19. Delays Outside Our Control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events beyond our control (e.g. supplier issues, transport disruption).


20. Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, and website content remain our property and may not be used without permission.


21. General

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

  • If any part is invalid, the rest remains in force.

  • These Terms do not give rights to third parties.
